The Forest Garden Immersion Series starts this weekend! Sign up for our first session, Design & Theory, at http://tiny.cc/fgis2010.
The course begins at 6:00pm on Friday April 16th and concludes at 3:30pm on Sunday April 18th after a talk by Dave Jacke, primary author of Edible Forest Gardens. Classes go from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday, with an evening showing of Geoff Lawton’s DVD “Establishing a Food Forest – the Permaculture Way”.
On-site housing is available, and there are discounts for couples & groups.
Topics covered include:
- Forest Garden vision & goals
- Examples of local projects
- Site Analysis for Sun, Shade, Soil, Water
- Forest Garden Pattern Language
- Hands-on Design Exercises
- Permaculture polyculture and patch planning
- Detailed information on hardy, edible plant species
Dave Jacke’s talk on Sunday is titled “Ecology, Design, and Agriculture: A New Synthesis“, and is open to the public for $10 per person. The talk begins at 2:00pm and concludes at 3:30pm — all are welcome!!!
