Earth Day Events in Syracuse – Come out and Garden!
With the 40th anniversary of Earth Day fast approaching, numerous opportunities are available for volunteering and getting outside during this beautiful weather. Here is a sampling of events that are either being held by Alchemical Nursery sponsored projects or have come across our desks recently.
Syracuse Grows is hosting a City-Wide Garden Clean Up on Saturday April 17. Visit http://www.syracusegrows.org for more details.
The Westcott Community Garden will be holding their opening day meeting/work day on Saturday April 17 at 11 am. For more details visit:

An Earth day Celebration at the Southwest Community Center on Saturday April 17 starting at 9:30 am will include flower planting,

OCRRA, the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency hosts it’s yearly Earth Day Clean Up on Friday April 16 and Saturday April 17. Visit OCRRA for details and to find out where your local cleanup is: http://www.ocrra.org/programs_earthday.asp
On Saturday April 17th, the Isabella St. Tapestry Garden located on the Northside will have a clean up for the garden to help prepare the plots for planting season. Volunteers are much needed and

B.E.A.N. and Cooperative Federal Credit Union will be holding a Greening the Block event on Saturday April 24 to revitalize the Kwanzaa Village Garden and the South and West Side of Syracuse, NY.
