Syracuse: 1000 Seed Bombs! May 23, 2010
From Briana of http://www.meetup.com/Permaculture-and-Urban-Homesteading/
Join us for the making of 1000 Seed Bombs at Thornden Park!
(meet behind the Rose Garden)
Sunday, May 23rd, 2 – 4pm
Keep what you make to beautify desolate and abandoned spaces by tossing in your seed bombs. After lots of rain, vwala – flowers!
Our goal is to make 1000 seed bombs, or until supplies run out. Seed bombs are compressed balls of clay, compost, native wild flower seeds and some water. All materials will be provided including some fresh lemonade, yum. Feel free to bring a lawn game or snack to share.
Please bring extra empty egg cartons or small boxes to transport your seed bombs home. Limited supply provided.
Optional: take before and after photos and send them to [masked] Sponsored by 40 Below Public Arts Task Force and the Northside Collaboratory.
** You may remember the making of seed balls from the 2010 Upstate Permaculture Gathering earlier this year as a planned children’s activity, which then overflowed into the adults area (demonstrating its across ages appeal!) If you didn’t get a chance to roll some balls then, or are curious now, it’s great fun, playing with mud and seeds, and getting pretty red hands, then tossing seed balls in subversive sites!
