GreeningUSA Awards Recognition for the Alchemical Nursery
GreeningUSA Awards Recognition to Frank Cetera and Syracuse Grows
Two Alchemical Nursery related honorees were recognized by GreeningUSA as part of their 2010 Community Advocacy Awards during a ceremony at the Greening USA Annual Meeting on Wednesday.
Frank Cetera, Co-Founder and current Board President, was recognized for his role in our community’s
Economic Development arena. Frank led the development and original adminstration of the Quinta Essentia Fiscal Sponsorship program which leveraged over $16,000 in funds in 2010 for local charitable works under Alchemical’s sponsorship including Syracuse Grows, Syracuse First, B.E.A.N., The Color of Family, and the Biochar Research Guild. Frank has also led the development and launch of the Green Core Company green business standards and credential program as part of his employment with the Small Business Development Center at Onondaga Community College. The Green Core Company program is a blueprint for achieving greater social and environmentally conscious operations for businesses in our CNY region.
Congratulations is also afforded to Syracuse Grows, one of the original fiscally sponsored programs under Alchemical’s Quinta Essentia umbrella. Co-Chairs Mable Wilson and Jonnell Robinson were on hand to accept the award for excellence in the Community Enrichment arena. Mable and Jonnell have led Syracuse Grows to build local capacity for community gardening and urban agriculture while striving to create viable on-the-ground conditions for urban food production through advocacy, programming, and resource support.
