As we laughed, and measured, and dripped sweat in the afternoon heat, we did eco-alchemy – transmuting
small marker flags from a box into the ground for future water courses. The contours became symbols for
future fruit trees and the harvest to be shared with the Amma farm crew and her neighbors.
