Appreciating CoWorking in Syracuse
Congratulations to 40-Below and the opening of the Syracuse CoWorks project at the Tech Garden.

Even though they call it the first co-working space in the Syracuse area, we want to recognize the visionary Alchemical Nursery community of people whom both administered and participated as members at the actual first co-working space in Syracuse – the Alchemical Spaces Co-working office in the Gear Factory from 2009 – 2011.
For a look back, see some pictures and description of Alchemical Spaces from when it was in operation – http://www.alchemicalnursery.org/news/314-coworking-studio-space-available-on-near-westside.html
Here’s a video of the initial Open House – https://vimeo.com/4549011
And finally, A blog post from former Alchemical Spaces co-worker Josh Shear for some of the flavor at the office – http://www.alchemicalnursery.org/component/myblog/co-working-at-alchemical-spaces.html
We all hope that we continue to undertake future offerings in the realm of sharing, and that coworking is just an initial step along the way to an egalitarian existence. We envision the next evolution in our shared space endeavors to be along the lines of a writer’s retreat house, in which those of thought and quill can find solace, quiet, and conversation, and a writer’s desk in solitude for contemplation and extrudance of word onto paper (or screen).
Thank you for your past, present, and future support, from the Alchemical Nursery.
