Hello all,
We have put the word out there a few times before, but want to again in case some interested folks are still out there in the internet world. We have a group that has been moving slowly fwd together, but still need some more folks to jump in to do the deal. There is room for people that want to buy in, and there is room for people that don’t have the cash but the willingness to get involved in the worker coop.
We are looking at some land in Greene Co. that is 170ac and really could work well for a community project. It is not too far from Hudson/Catskill, Albany etc and is a perfect spot for doing some broadscale permaculture. It is a pretty awesome piece of land and should be able to yield quite a bit with some love and attention.
We are planning a worker coop farm and an IC sharing the land. We are going to be starting a perennial CSA, and a nursery project, among other things and will be getting some financial and technical support from various orgs. and feel like we are in a pretty good place organization wise….so, if anyone feels like talking, get in touch!
peace,
kevinCommunity FormingSarah and Kevin Posted On 5/4/2013, Last Updated On 11/6/2013 We are actively seeking land and people for a farm-based intentional community in or near the Hudson Valley region of New York. We are hoping to develop an FEC community here in the NE, as we badly need one, tho we can also imagine a CLT held landbase that has opportunities for both income sharing and non-income sharing households. We have seed money committed, tho we would love to find some other stakeholders who would like to partner so we can make a larger farm purchase appropriate for a larger community. We are engaged in farming ourselves, teaching and practicing Permaculture and Holistic management and esp seek others with passions for land-based lively hood but welcome anyone with an interest in cooperative living. We are currently having meetings in the Hudson valley. peas and love! Sarah and Kevin
